May 10th Meeting 2008 May there were 95 members present, April 82 people, March 89 people at the meeting. Shawn the president was not present, Calvin, the vice president presiding. Calvin is looking at getting or creating a "accident waver" that everyone will have to agree to when using the property. Calvin talked about his trip to East Gold Prospectors Virginia property that he went to with a few other Allegheny Chapter members during May 6th and 7th. He also handed out applications for the East Gold Prospectors for anyone that wants to join. Also the East Gold Prospectors are having an outing the weekend of June 28th and 29th at there Virginia property, they will also be having dredging and power sluicing stations that people can test run them to see if they like dredging and power sluicing before you would go out and spend the money on that type of equipment.. For non East Gold prospector members it will cost 20$ or you can join that club for 50$ for a year. Also Calvin brought back 150 pounds of concentrate that he will be going though and will be letting us know how much gold he got. Calvin also showed us the morels that he found around in the woods in our property, after the meeting he went around with members to show them where to look for these mushrooms. He had about 3 pounds of them. Chris the secretary talked about the trip to Herkimer Diamond mine, Not a lot of people went, but there is talk about having another trip in October, the Halloween weekend.
Last month new trustees for the property were
elected. They are Keith R., Ron G., John M., Jerry S., and Rob S. When attending the meetings PLEASE BRING SOMETHING for the Pot Luck Lunch. If people don't bring anything we won't have anything to eat!
Things to remember. There is no trash pickup at the camp grounds. What you bring in make sure you take out with you. This also means if you see trash on the ground please pick it up.
